2013 Resort Inspirations: Florals and Prints
I don’t know about you, but I am thoroughly impressed with the all the new designer Resort 2013 collections. I am seeing a pattern emerging with most of the collections, and by pattern I mean lots of graphic prints and florals. This is right on trend with this summer and I have picked out my favorite pieces and then a few pieces that I found locally and at my favorite stores.
PRETTY FLORALS: These prints are perfect for a summer night or lunch by the beach. Erdem is an expert at making florals look fresh and modern.
It may not be designer, but Forever 21 is stocked with different floral prints right now. This dress would look good with your summer flats or wedges.
This Gucci dress is so pretty and feminine. I think it would be a perfect chic coverup.
And I just have to include these finds because they are also gorgeous. I love the colors on these peices.
I like this pick from Forever 21 because of the pretty green color.
Don’t forget to wear a smaller print floral as seen in this Jason Wu dress. I love the pop of color in the shoes.
Nashville’s own Kelseigh Harp is doing it right with a smaller floral print Forever 21 dress. Love the fringe shoes with it.
Try mixing your florals with a different top and bottom or layer a floral jacket over a floral romper or dress.
WILD AND COLORFUL PRINTS: This season is full of retro, animal and bright colored prints that will add some fun to your summer wardrobe.
How amazing is this BCBG dress with the neon stripe down the center? I love the contrast of the darker print with the pop of color.
More neon from MSGM.
I love me some cobalt blue. Michael Kors pairs that blue with a snake inspired print skirt.
How about some retro inspired prints? Yes, please.
Color is king this summer, but smart fashionistas always have black and white options in their closets. Black and white prints are so sophisticated and create a standout contrast between the two colors (or absence of color!). I like how Rachel Roy paired two different black and white prints together.
Nashville designer Jamie and the Jones has a great neutral print here with this top - all done by hand.
Just like you can mix different florals, feel free to mix different prints as well for a fun, quirky look.
I hope this helps you find your favorite prints and florals this summer. Mix different florals with florals, mix prints with prints, mix florals with prints and mix colors! Have fun with it! XO, Janal Leigh
